We collect only what we need to prepare your quote, we never sell your data, and we delete it on request.
When you submit an application we collect your name, contact details, the property and financial information you provide, and basic technical data such as your IP address and browser. We collect this to prepare your quote and to meet our record-keeping obligations as a licensed brokerage.
With your consent, we share your application with the lenders and insurers we approach on your behalf, and with the lawyers and appraisers involved in closing. We do not sell your information to third parties or use it for unrelated advertising.
We do not pull your credit to give you a quote. We only obtain a credit report once you instruct us to proceed with a specific lender, and we tell you before we do.
Brokerage records are retained for the period our regulator requires. You can ask us to delete anything we are not required to keep by writing to hello@rateshop.ca.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, correct anything inaccurate, or withdraw consent to be contacted at any time. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot continue an application in progress.
